ABOUT MY ART
My work is semi abstract / abstract and draws on the colour, shape and form found in landscapes.
I’m taken hold by fantastic skies, stormy seas and the atmospheric beauty of nature.
I work in oils which enable me to add layers of paint , that can be removed and reworked adding textures and tones, so it is constantly changing
like the scenery I’m trying to capture.
As the elements shift in light and shade the painting will eventually find itself & evoke a familiar memory and emotion.
The rawness and wonder of a view cannot always be captured by a photograph, it’s the feeling of the sun on your eyelids, the wind blowing
your hair, the inhales and exhales that capture the moment…
I feel this when I paint.
